あけましておめでとう(Happy New Year)! Japanese class enjoyed learning the traditions of Japanese New Year by various activities. For New Year's Eve, class enjoyed eating Soba noodles or making Udon noodles from the scratch. お正月は、かきぞめ (first calligraphy)や、けんだま、そしてもちつきをしました。 For New Year's Day, we practiced first calligraphy and Kendama, then pounded rice! We had honorable guests from the Consulate-General's office in Atlanta to join our rice pounding ceremony. These mochitsuki items are from their office, and we appreciate their great support for us to enjoy the Japanese tradition together. Ms. Miley joined our ceremony as well! I hope everyone will have a wonderful year in 2023!
2023年がみなさんに良い年になりますように!
