こんにちは! Konnichiwa! 今日の日本語クラスは、お正月のもちつきをしました。We celebrated the new year by pounding "mochi", rice cake. In Japan, people eat mochi for new year's day and hope that they can "stick" to the goals. レベル三クラス レベル二クラス (2nd period) レベル二クラス (3rd period) レベル一クラス 日本語レベル四と五(とスペイン語のクラス) 日本語クラブ (Japanese Culture Club) We made mochi dessert with soybean flour and red bean paste! I hope you enjoyed the mochitsuki activity.

明けましておめでとうございます (Happy New Year)! Japanese class celebrated the new year with various cultural activities. New Year's Calligraphy Artwork Students wrote the kanji for "Year of the Tiger" for 2022! Level 3 Class Level 2 Class Level 1 Class Level 4/5 Class We voted for our favorite artwork. Thank you for teachers who joined us for voting! Special award goes to... Braeden Wirhun (Level 1) Level 2 class worked on the New Year's Workshop project. Each group researched on a cultural activity and facilitated a workshop. First visit to a shrine by Tev Saburov Fukuwarai (Face puzzle) by Cooper Norton Hanetsuki (Japanese badminton) by James Grimes If you lose, you get inked on your face!! Nengajo (New Year's Card) Design by Mady Sudiyanto, Nicole Tuller & Kendyl Warmouth Thank you for students who presented the workshop project! These New Year's cards were submitted to the Nation-wide & State-wide contest. We are excited to hear the results! I am wishing everyone a happy and healthy year in 2022!
